Yesenia and Kenny met at the Yale University’s School of Forestry and Environmental Studies. Both founders came together over a common passion for sustainable agriculture and social justice.
Yesenia grew up visiting her grandparents in Oaxaca, Mexico every summer and eating chapulines, the delicious grasshoppers famous in the region’s cuisine.
During her time at Yale, she felt that the US was ready to embrace the eating of insects. Seeing the potential that insects have as a sustainable and nutritious source of protein, Kenny and Yesenia launched Poda Foods.
